Fresh out of the egg oystercatcher! Not catching many oysters yet- its parents will fly bivalves on the half shell in for these little guys until they're older.
Willet nest. These guys stay on their nest until a predator (me) is only a few feet away. When you're plenty close they pop out (flush) and scare me to death. I scream every. single. time.

Oystercatchers don't typically decorate their nests this much - if at all. This one was exquisitely decorated and framed triangularly by the 3 sea rockets. The bird picked up all those shells and arranged them like this.

These plovers didn't decorate at all and hardly have a scrape. You can clearly see their tracks to and from the nest!
A very light colored female plover. Sometimes the birds have coloring unique enough that you can tell the individuals apart. This site has several strikingly light colored female plovers though.

Find the nest! It's tough when you're walking quickly and trying to locate such well camouflaged nests!
